Boise Cascade Wood Products, Kettle Falls Plywood

Air Operating Permit renewal

Oct. 25, 2019 - Nov. 25, 2019, 5 p.m.

We are accepting written comments on the renewal of the Air Operating Permit (AOP) for Boise Cascade Wood Products, Kettle Falls Plywood.

This facility, located at 1274 South Boise Road in Kettle Falls, manufactures plywood. The facility's main air pollution emitting processes are: a fluidized bed combuster, veneer dryers, and two natural gas boilers. Changes in emissions from their previous AOP are accounted for in the facility's 2015 Notice of Construction Approval Order No. 15AQ-E631.

Ecology expects to approve the draft renewal permit and will accept written comments on this action through Nov. 25, 2019.

Please review the draft permit documents:

Ways to comment

You can submit comments by email or by mail – both types are equally considered.

Requests to hold a public hearing may be made within the comment period. The request must include the interest of the requestor and why a public hearing is warranted. If significant public interest exists, Ecology may hold a hearing.

To learn if there are additional records for this project, contact Ecology’s Public Records Office.

This notice was posted on Oct. 24, 2019.

Background

Commercial and industrial businesses that emit large amounts of air pollution are required to get an air operating permit. An air operating permit is a master document that lists all of the air pollution requirements that apply to a business or industry. We issue these permits along with other local clean air agencies in Washington.
