Comment on Guy Bennett Lumber's draft renewal of their air quality air operating permit (AOP).

Guy Bennett Lumber is located at 1951 Wilma Drive, Clarkston, in Asotin County. Guy Bennett Lumber processes raw logs into dried finished lumber for sale. Logs are brought on-site by truck, unloaded, then sorted by wood species and log size. The sorted logs are transferred to de-barkers in the sawmill, then cut to dimension. From the sawmill, the lumber is sent to dry kilns, where it's dried. After drying, the lumber is planed, stacked, and packaged for shipment.

We determined this proposal satisfies the requirements of Chapter 173-401 WAC. We plan to approve the application.

Background

Commercial and industrial businesses that emit large amounts of air pollution are required to get an air operating permit. An air operating permit is a master document that lists all of the air pollution requirements that apply to a business or industry. We issue these permits along with other clean air agencies in Washington.
