Air Quality General Order – Opportunity to request a public comment period

Feb. 10, 2020 - Feb. 25, 2020, 5 p.m.

Ecology is rescinding coverage under the air quality general order, as the company has ceased operations on a portable plant.

Knife River Company, based out of Boise, Idaho, submitted a Facility Report of Closure for its portable rock crusher No. 1, which operated in Eastern Washington and was covered under Washington's air quality general order.

We plan to rescind this coverage order as requested. We will hold a public comment period on the draft rescission order only if a written request is received by Feb. 25, 2020.

Background

Ecology issues general order permits to commercial sources of air pollution. A general order is a permit issued to similar sources of air pollution, instead of a series of individual permits. This simplifies the air permitting process.
