This is the public involvement page for this rulemaking.
Background:
This rulemaking would repeal chapter WAC 173-04, Practice and Procedure.
Ecology is proposing to repeal the entire chapter 173-04 WAC, as it is obsolete and no longer useful to implement practices or procedures as the subject is currently governed by other laws and rule. Ecology regularly does reviews of existing rules to examine their content for accuracy. Review of Chapter 173-04 WAC – Practice and Procedure indicated that it was no longer needed, as more contemporary rules and laws have replaced this chapter.
Documents for review
We write rules to implement and enforce state and federal environmental laws and rules. Ecology follows a 3-phase process for rulemaking:
- Announcement and development
- Proposal
- Adoption
For each phase of the process, we update the rulemaking web page and notify interested parties. We also file notice in the Washington State Register. To learn more about Ecology’s rulemaking process, read the Frequently Asked Questions. [link to Rulemaking FAQs]
