Background

We have prepared this draft state Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) under the State Environmental Policy Act. The EIS assesses a project proposed by the Chehalis River Basin Flood Control Zone District to build and operate a flood retention dam and associated temporary reservoir on the Chehalis River south of Pe Ell, Washington. The proposal also covers improvements to the Chehalis-Centralia Airport levee to reduce flood damage.
