The Port of Seattle proposes to establish an umbrella mitigation and habitat conservation bank in King County.
The proposal currently involves three separate sites totaling 60 acres and includes a variety of mitigation actions across the different sites. The proposal includes re-establishing estuarine wetland functions, re-establishing and creating riparian habitat and off-channel rearing and refuge habitat for salmonids and other migratory and resident fish and wildlife, re-establishing and enhancing freshwater wetlands, and enhancing and preserving associated uplands. For more information on this project, check the Port of Seattle’s mitigation and habitat conservation umbrella bank’s project web page.
We and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers are soliciting comments from interested parties to identify project aspects that need to be addressed during the bank review process. Due to the current COVID-19 restrictions, Ecology extended their public comment period from 30 to 60 days. See our wetland mitigation bank public notice web page for detailed information.
All interested parties are invited to provide comment during this public comment period. There are several ways to provide comments. You only need to submit your comments once.
