Meetings & Hearings

Georgia-Pacific, Camas paper mill cleanup

Agreed Order and Public Participation Plan

April 20, 2021, 6 p.m., Camas, Washington

We invite you to attend a meeting, followed by a hearing to accept oral comments, on the draft Agreed Order and Public Participation Plan for the cleanup of the Georgia-Pacific, Camas paper mill.

The proposed order requires the mill to investigate contamination on the site and perform interim actions to address contamination when required. The proposed PPP describes Ecology’s plan for outreach and engagement on cleanup activities.

Cleanup site information

Located at 401 NE Adams Street in Camas, pulp and paper operations have taken place on the site since the late 1880s. While the mill has shut down its pulping operations, it still makes paper products from purchased pulp. The investigation will take place where appropriate so that it does not interfere with operations.

We work to investigate and clean up contaminated sites that can harm your health and the environment. Under state and federal laws, those who pollute the air, land, or water are responsible for cleaning up the contamination.
