Cleanup Agreed Order and Public Participation Plan

Feb. 25, 2021 - April 23, 2021, 11:59 p.m.

We invite you to comment on the draft Agreed Order and Public Participation Plan for the cleanup of the Georgia-Pacific, Camas paper mill.

The proposed order requires the mill to investigate contamination on the site and perform interim actions to address contamination when required. The proposed PPP describes Ecology’s plan for outreach and engagement on cleanup activities.

When the comment period ends, we will review all comments received and make appropriate changes to the order and plan before making a final decision.

Cleanup site information

Located at 401 NE Adams Street in Camas, pulp and paper operations have taken place on the site since the late 1880s. While the mill has shut down its pulping operations, it still makes paper products from purchased pulp.

We work to investigate and clean up contaminated sites that can harm your health and the environment. Under state and federal laws, those who pollute the air, land, or water are responsible for cleaning up the contamination.
