Oil Spill Contingency Plans

February 26, 2019 - March 26, 2019

The following plan is available for public review and comment:

Specific changes are as follows:

  • Response resources for the San Juan County Planning Standard Area shown on updated Planning Standard Spreadsheet.
  • Updated Planning Standard Spreadsheets for other areas.
  • Spill Management Team Members.
Ecology invites the public and local and tribal governments to review and comment on oil spill contingency plan updates. Washington Administrative Code (WAC) chapters 173-182 and 173-186 require oil handling facilities, pipelines, vessels, and railroads to have a state-approved oil spill contingency plan that ensures their ability to respond to major oil spills. Plan holders are required to submit changes to Ecology and updates may require a 30 day public review of the updates (Chapter 173-182-142 WAC).
