Ecology invites interested members of the public, local, and tribal governments to review and comment on the 5-year updated contingency plan.
The following plan is now available for review:
Chapter 173-186 WAC requires railroads transporting oil to have a state-approved oil spill contingency plan that ensures their ability to respond to major oil spills. Short-line railroads that transport less than 49 tank car loads per year of non-crude oil in bulk are only required to submit a basic contingency plan. These Type C railroads must submit only a basic contingency plan.
