Boathouse Inc. Renton Skyway cleanup site

Public meeting

Aug. 3, 2022, 6:30 p.m., Online webinar

Join us online to discuss the details of the Public Participation Plan and Prospective Purchaser Consent Decree. Interpretation will be provided in six languages.

The Boathouse Inc. Renton Skyway site was a retail store and dry cleaning facility in the Skyway neighborhood. Ken’s Skyway Cleaners operated from 1982 until 2002, and released hazardous chemicals to soil and groundwater. Ecology is providing funding for this cleanup through their new Affordable Housing Cleanup Grant Program. This program ensures sites are “cleaned up properly while promoting community engagement and ensuring affordable housing in the process.”

Meeting agenda:

  • 6:30-7:00 pm: Presentation
  • 7:00-7:30 pm: Q&A

Learn more about the contamination and cleanup!

This purpose of this meeting is to more deeply explain the documents available for review and comment at this time. While the developer will be speaking briefly on the proposed affordable housing redevelopment, that is not the purpose of this meeting.

Comments invited on a Public Participation Plan and Prospective Purchaser Consent Decree. Ecology is providing funding for this cleanup through their new Affordable Housing Cleanup Grant Program. This program ensures sites are “cleaned up properly while promoting community engagement and ensuring affordable housing in the process.”
