We invite you to a public meeting to talk about documents out for review.
We invite you to join us for an open house and public meeting. The meeting will start with a presentation about an Agreed Order (legal agreement) and Public Participation Plan for the Dawn Food Products cleanup site. The site is next to the Duwamish River in South Seattle where historical activities, including ship building, sheet metal fabrication and generator manufacturing, have resulted in the presence of contaminants in soil and groundwater.
The Agreed Order requires Bridgepoint Seattle 130 LLC (Bridgepoint) a potentially liable person (PLP), to prevent existing contamination from impacting human health and the environment by investigating and addressing contamination under the Model Toxics Control Act (MTCA).
The following documents are available for review and comment:
- Agreed Order: A legal agreement between Ecology and the PLP requiring them to implement cleanup at the Site.
- Public Participation Plan: A document explaining how people can participate in the cleanup process.
The following classes of contaminants were found to exceed minimum allowed levels under MTCA: metals, total petroleum hydrocarbons (TPH) from gasoline, Carcinogenic Polycyclic Aromatic Hydrocarbons (cPAHs), and halogenated solvents.
