WA DOT Signals Maintenance Delisting

Delisting from the Hazardous Sites List

July 19, 2019 - Aug. 19, 2019

Ecology plans to remove the Washington State Department of Transportation (WA DOT) Signals Maintenance site from the Hazardous Sites List. This site is located at 3700 9th Avenue South, Seattle WA and is currently used as a traffic signal maintenance facility. It used to be a refueling facility for WA DOT fleet vehicles.

We reviewed the site cleanup and determined that:

• The site is no longer a threat to human health and the environment
• Cleanup actions meet state cleanup standards
• No further action is needed

A site may be removed from the Hazardous Sites List only if the site is cleaned up. In some cases, long-term monitoring and periodic reviews may be required to ensure the cleanup is adequate to protect the public and the environment. Ecology will hold a public comment period for any site it proposes to remove from this list.
