Periodic Review available for review and comment.
We invite you to review and comment on a document called a periodic review for the North Marina Bayside ABW site, located at 1332 West Marine Drive in Everett. A periodic review is conducted every five years after a cleanup action has been initiated at a cleanup site, as required by the Model Toxics Control Act. The purposes of the review are to evaluate the site and to ensure the continued protection of human health and the environment.
The site is part of the of the Port of Everett’s (Port) Waterfront Place Central Redevelopment, is approximately three acres, and is nearby other cleanup sites that include North Marina Ameron Hulbert to the north and Everett Shipyard to the south. Port Gardner Bay and the Port’s Central Marina are located to the southwest of the site.
This site was previously part of a broader Voluntary Cleanup Program (VCP) site known as the North Marina Redevelopment VCP site. In 2007, the North Marina VCP site was split into six separate sites under the state’s Puget Sound Initiative. Three of these sites were to be enrolled into VCP. Over the past five years, this site has been redeveloped by the Port, its tenants, and a new property owner, into an apartment building, hotel, and restaurant.
After the public comment period ends, we will review and respond to comments received during the comment period and will hold a public meeting if 10 or more people request one. The periodic review will become final if no significant changes are made. An additional public comment period will be held if significant changes are made.
