FMF has applied for an amendment to its coverage under the Washington Department of Ecology's general biosolids permit.
FMF applies biosolids to the soil at sites in Lincoln, Lewis, Pacific, Grays Harbor, Pierce, Spokane and Pend Oreille counties. FMF proposes to add its Mid Mountain site, in Thurston County, to the existing permit. FMF's application includes a site specific land application plan that addresses the management of biosolids at this new Thurston County site, at 20015 128th Ave. SE, Yelm, WA.
After review of a completed environmental checklist, we issued a determination of non-significance (DNS) for this Thurston County site on Dec. 17, 2018 for the application of biosolids as a soil amendment.
The permit application also includes a general land application plan that addresses how FMF will identify and manage future land application sites. We will require FMF’s proposals for new sites be consistent with this general land application plan.
To comment in writing on the DNS or proposed permit application amendments, write to Peter Lyon by Feb. 13, 2019.
