Proposed changes to the Water Quality Permit Fees

This rulemaking would amend Chapter 173-224 WAC – Water Quality Permit Fees. We are considering a rule amendment for Fiscal Years 2022 and 2023 to recover the projected program costs. We may also propose new permit fee categories, changes to the structure of specific permit fee categories, and other technical changes.

We write rules to implement and enforce state and federal environmental laws and rules. We follow a 3-phase process for rulemaking:

1. Announcement and development
2. Proposal
3. Adoption
