Webinar Workshop and Public Hearing

Atlantic Salmon Net Pen Water Quality Permits

January 30, 2018 1:00 PM

We invite you to attend an online workshop and public hearing on the draft water quality permits. Use the Join Online link to register.

During the webinar, we will explain the proposed changes to the permits and answer questions. The webinar hearing will begin after the question and answer period and will end when public testimony is complete. During the hearing, you may submit formal testimony.

For more information and to view the draft permits and related documents, visit the Atlantic Salmon Net Pen Aquaculture webpage.

Updating these permits will regulate Atlantic salmon farming until the 2022 ban. To raise fish in net pens, we require individual NPDES permits for each facility. The permit is the tool that requires Best Management Practices, monitoring, and reporting to ensure water quality standards are met.
