Join us for a webinar with the permit writer who will provide a brief overview and take your informal comment on the next permit.
We invite you to attend an afternoon listening session to hear your comments on what we should change in the Concentrated Animal Feeding Operation General Permit. Please see the related evening listening session on Jan. 26, 2021 if it works better for your schedule.
This National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) and State Waste Discharge (SWD) water quality permit require medium and large-scale livestock operations to implement specific practices to protect water quality.
You may need this permit if you own or operate an animal feeding operation that:
- Confines livestock in pens or barns for 45 days or more during the year, AND
- Discharges pollution to surface or groundwaters.
