National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) Wastewater Discharge Permit

June 5, 2020 - July 6, 2020, 11:59 p.m.

We invite comments on draft modification of National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) permit no. WA0031836

The proposed modification allows the facility to use a non-fluorinated foam (Micro-Blaze Out) for training purposes after the treatment system upgrade is complete.

You may view the draft modified permit and fact addendum at WA State Fire Training Academy or visit the Water Quality Permitting and Reporting Information System (PARIS) website.

We regulate wastewater released from municipalities and industries using the NPDES Wastewater Discharge Permit. This permit regulates wastewater that goes directly into lakes, rivers, Puget Sound, or the ocean (surface water). All wastewater must be treated before it goes into surface water to protect human health and aquatic life.
