April 29, 2021 - May 29, 2021, 12:05 a.m.

We invite you to comment on draft Water Quality Permit No. WA0040738

The permit allows Western Wood Preserving to send (discharge) treated wastewater to the city of Sumner storm sewer.

You may view the draft document at Western Wood Preserving or visit the Water Quality Permitting and Reporting Information System (PARIS) website.

We regulate wastewater released from municipalities and industries using the National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) Wastewater Discharge Permit. This permit regulates wastewater that goes directly into lakes, rivers, Puget Sound, or the ocean (surface water). All wastewater must be treated before it goes into surface water to protect human health and aquatic life.
