Voluntary Clean Water Guidance for Agriculture Comment Period

Voluntary Clean Water Guidance for Agriculture

March 5, 2020 - Jan. 1, 2021, 12 a.m.

We are seeking comments on the draft chapter of our Voluntary Clean Water for Agriculture Guidance.

People may also choose to wait until we have more chapters drafted before providing feedback. We plan to close the comment period and finalize all of the chapters in this first batch of guidance toward the end of the year.

The chapters in this first batch include: Tillage and Residue Management, Riparian Areas & Surface Water Protection (Buffers), Livestock Management - Pasture & Rangeland Grazing, Livestock Management - Animal Confinement, Manure Handling & Storage, and Suites of Recommended Practices.

We invite you to review and comment on the following:

The Voluntary Clean Water Guidance for Agriculture is a technical resource for agricultural producers that describes our recommended best management practices (BMPs) to protect water quality. There will be 13 chapters of the Guidance released over the next few years.

For more information, please read our guidance focus sheet or blog.

We will continue working closely with the Voluntary Clean Water Guidance for Agriculture Advisory Group and our partners as we develop each chapter of this guidance.
