Wastewater Discharge Permit - State Waste Discharge Permit

We invite comments on draft permit no. ST0501318 and SEPA.

This draft permit is being issued to GWI Holdings Inc/GACO Western and authorizes the discharge of contaminated groundwater to ground for treatment by a grove of poplar and willow trees (called an EBuffer) and following the conditions specified in the permit. In addition, we have reviewed the project following the State Environmental Pollicy Act (SEPA) and issued a Determination of Non-Significance (DNS) finding that this project will not have a significant adverse affect on the environment.

The DNS, draft permit, fact sheet and related documents can be viewed at GACO Western or visit the Water Quality Permitting and Reporting System (PARIS) website.

We regulate wastewater released from municipalities or industries using the State Waste Discharge Permit. This permit regulates wastewater that goes into the ground (groundwater) or to a publicly owned treatment works (POTWs). Learn more about water quality individual permits.
