We have heard from stakeholders that they want a formal opportunity to help us prioritize our TMDL work, so we have established this annual, statewide meeting to give you an opportunity to tell us what you think. During the meeting, each of our regional offices will give a short presentation on our proposed TMDL work and there will be time for questions and answers.
We will accept written comments on our proposed work from Oct. 30 until Nov. 30, 2018. We will review and respond to feedback as needed before we finalize our proposed TMDL work.
The Total Maximum Daily Load (TMDL) — or water quality improvement project — process is a common-sense, science-based approach to cleaning up polluted water so that it meets state water quality standards. A TMDL is a numerical value that represents the highest amount of a pollutant a surface water body can receive and still meet the standards.
