Webinar Hearing

WAC 173-201A Water Quality Standards Multiple Revisions

Sept. 19, 2019, 1:30 p.m.

We are holding both an in-person hearing in Vancouver and an online webinar hearing. We will begin with a short presentation about the proposed changes, followed by a question and answer session. Testimony will start after the question and answer session. The hearing will conclude once all interested persons provide formal testimony.

We are proposing changes to the Total Dissolved Gas standards in the Snake and Columbia rivers. Additionally, we are taking comment on other revisions to different parts of the water quality standards, which includes clarifying the descriptions of marine water aquatic life designations. We are also proposing changes due to a legal agreement, where we agreed to remove incremental warming allowances for nonpoint sources and to clarify using water effects ratios in a permit will require a separate rulemaking.
