Chapter 173-400 WAC

This rulemaking will amend Chapter 173-400 WAC, General Regulations for Air Pollution Sources that establishes the regulatory framework to ensure healthy air quality in Washington and that we meet federal air quality standards.

The amendments will:

  • Add an alternative sulfur dioxide (SO2) emission standard for sulfur recovery units at petroleum refineries to be applied during startup and shutdown.
  • Edit other sections to update contents, and increase clarity and readability.
