On Sept. 16, 2021, we approved the city of Winlock's shoreline master program (SMP) periodic review amendment.
Winlock’s updated SMP is effective Sept. 30, 2021, 14 days after we provided notice to the city that their SMP was approved.
The city’s amendment proposes changes to the existing shoreline program to ensure the SMP is current with changes in state law, changes in other city plans and regulations, and other changed circumstances. The proposed changes update the monetary threshold for substantial development, identify those activities that do not require local shoreline review or permits, and allow for the use of credits from a certified mitigation bank to compensate for unavoidable impacts.
The updated SMP will guide development and activities along portions of Olequa Creek and King Creek.
