Spokane River Toxics Reduction Grant

This grant program will provide funding for projects that reduce and eliminate toxics in the Spokane River Basin. Toxic chemicals enter the river system from sources such as agriculture, industrial operations, and transportation. Funded projects will address toxic chemicals and protect the health of the river through technical assistance, planning, implementing Best Management Practices, monitoring and research, and education and outreach. New and ongoing projects are eligible.

The 2025-2027 Washington Model Toxics Control Act operating budget provided Ecology with $1.5 million to address toxics and emerging contaminants in the Spokane River Basin, a subbasin of the Columbia River Basin. $1 million of this funding is supporting creation of this grant program focused on reducing toxic chemicals in the Spokane River Basin.
