Wildlife response service providers application
June 24, 2026, 8 a.m. - July 24, 2026, 5 p.m. PT
We invite interested public, local governments, tribes, and any others, to review and comment on wildlife response service provider applications submitted to Ecology for approval.
The following documents are now available for public review:
Background
Wildlife response service providers are companies with trained personnel who are qualified to staff and manage wildlife response activities during an oil spill. Oil handling facilities, pipelines, and vessels regulated under Chapter 73-182 WAC may contract with state-approved wildlife response service providers to fulfill their oil spill contingency plan requirements.
Contract wildlife response service providers are approved through an application process and wildlife response service providers must be approved by the state in order to be cited in oil spill contingency plans. This 30-day public review and comment period is a part of the application process.

Thank you for taking the time to provide us with your comments. We will consider all comments, respond to comments, and complete the review no later than 30 days after the close of the public review period.
