Troy Laundry Seattle cleanup site

Hazardous dry-cleaning solvents, heating oil, and gasoline leaked from underground storage tanks at this site, contaminating the soil and groundwater. We invite you to review and comment on the following documents related to the cleanup.

• Remedial Investigation and Feasibility Study: describes previous and remaining cleanup work, evaluates cleanup options, and recommends a preferred cleanup option.
• Cleanup Action Plan: describes Ecology’s selected cleanup option based on the information in the remedial investigation and feasibility study.
• Consent Decree: a legal agreement that requires the property owner to monitor groundwater as described in the cleanup action plan and maintain existing site use controls.

Background

This property was an industrial laundry and dry-cleaning facility from 1926 until 1985. It has since changed owners multiple times, before being redeveloped into multi-level buildings. An early partial cleanup was conducted between 2014 and 2017 alongside the redevelopment of the property.
