We invite you to comment on draft Water Quality Permit No. WA0038784.
The permit allows World Fuel Services Corporation — doing business as Associated Petroleum Products Inc. — release treated industrial stormwater into the Blair Waterway. The water travels through the Lincoln Avenue ditch and then through an unnamed drainage ditch before reaching the waterway.
You can view the permit documents for Associated Petroleum Products Inc., or visit the Water Quality Permitting and Reporting Information System (PARIS) website to learn more.
Background
We regulate wastewater released from municipalities and industries using the National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) Wastewater Discharge Permit. This permit regulates wastewater that goes directly into lakes, rivers, Puget Sound, or the ocean (surface water). All wastewater must be treated and meet the applicable water quality standards before it goes into surface water to protect human health and aquatic life.
