Kittitas County Solid Waste Program Ryegrass Landfill

We invite you to comment on Draft Permit No. ST0009220.

The draft permit we propose to reissue to Kittitas County Solid Waste Program Ryegrass Landfill would allow the authorization to contain wastewater (subject to specified limitations) in the West Leachate Lagoon at 25900 Vantage Highway in Ellensburg.

All discharges must be in compliance with the Water Quality Standards for a permit to be issued. We made a tentative determination to develop and issue a proposed permit based on the effluent limitations and special permit conditions that will prevent and control pollution. A final determination will not be made until all timely comments received in response to this notice have been reviewed.

We regulate wastewater released from municipalities or industries using the State Waste Discharge Permit. This permit regulates wastewater that goes into the ground (groundwater) or to a publicly owned treatment works (POTWs).
