Chapter 173-167 WAC – Emergency Drought Funding (2026)

Ecology adopted an emergency drought funding rule April 8, 2026, under chapter 173-167 WAC, as a result of the new statewide Emergency Drought Order, which remains in effect. In response to the continued emergency drought declaration, the emergency drought funding rule is being adopted again and describes the applicant and project eligibility criteria for grant funds to alleviate hardship resulting from the currently declared drought.

An emergency rule remains in effect for 120 days unless withdrawn earlier. Ecology may extend the emergency rule and funding availability based on evolving drought conditions. A permanent rule for emergency drought grants is forthcoming and will allow Ecology to remain responsive to drought-related hardships.
