Accreditation fees

The Laboratory Accreditation fees are designed to cover all operating costs for the program, including application processing, reviews, audits, and technical support.

How we bill

For first-time applicants, there is a $300 application fee. The fee covers initial reviews, audits, and processing. After we issue your new accreditation documents, we will invoice you for your first year. Pay as soon as you can within 30 days of the invoice date. Avoid gaps in accreditation by paying before it's past due.

Laboratory accreditation is renewed on an annual basis. Renewal applicants pay fees to cover the costs of accrediting the parameters and methods requested, as shown in the table below.

A lab may also request to add or reinstate a parameter to an existing method on their scope of accreditation outside of their initial application or renewal process. In this case, we invoice an additional fee, soon after the revised scope is issued, based on the type and number of requested parameters.

Fee table — valid through June 30, 2026

Fees are charged per parameter or per method. To add up your charges, compare the listed prices in the table below to your application. The minimum fee for an annual lab accreditation is $500, whether for direct or third-party clients.

Starting on July 1, 2026, we will use Equation 1 in WAC 173-50-190 to calculate the fees.

Our fees in state regulation
