Proficiency test providers
Laboratories are required to submit acceptable proficiency testing (PT) study results in support of their applications and accreditation renewals. These studies must be procured from one of our approved PT providers. When your study is complete, the PT provider will submit the results directly to us. Our auditors examine these results as they review your application.
Proficiency testing takes time, so please plan ahead. It may take a while to schedule your study, and we must have your results before accreditation can be issued or renewed.
Start early
Study results should be sent to us by the PT provider at least one month prior to the current scope expiration date. Many labs schedule next year's PTs as soon as this year's renewal is complete. This is a good idea.
Late studies may be rejected or may cause a delay or lapse in accreditation. Studies must have closed within the last 12 months of your scope expiration date; older studies will not be reviewed.
