Burn ban expires in Kittitas County

UNION GAP  –

The Stage 1 burn ban in Kittitas County expires today at noon as scheduled because air quality and weather conditions have improved.

Forecasters with the Washington Department of Ecology expect smoke to clear out for the holiday weekend.

The burn ban in Okanogan County remains in place through Tuesday.

During Stage 1 burn bans outdoor burning is prohibited including residential, agricultural and forest burning. Use of uncertified wood stoves, fireplaces, inserts, and other uncertified wood-burning devices is prohibited unless they are a home’s only adequate source of heat.
