Data model: QUAL2KW - Version 6 (zip file)
A modeling framework for simulating river and stream water quality. Vversion 6 offers Non-steady, non-uniform flow using kinematic wave flow routing. Continuous simulation with time-varying boundary conditions for periods of up to one year. Also has the option to use repeating diel conditions similar to Version 5 but with either steady or non-steady flows.

River Metabolism Analyzer (RMA)
Excel workbook tool to apply four methods to analyze continuous monitoring data from a stream to analyze stream metabolism and reaeration. This tool can be used to solve for gross primary production, respiration, reaeration, and limitation due to light, temperature, nutrients, and predict response to parameter changes.

Cleanup site: Occidental Chemical, Tacoma
Occidental Chemical Corporation’s Tacoma cleanup site is located in the Tacoma tide flats, along the Hylebos Waterway. Contamination from this site is in the groundwater and soil. The contaminants that are of most concern are chlorinated volatile organic compounds (CVOCs).

River & stream thermal infrared image viewer
We conducted temperature surveys of 39 rivers in 2003 - 2004 from small planes equipped with cameras and infrared sensors. The resulting images show warm and cold spots in the river systems. Choose a river by basin in the drop-down menu on the left to scroll through the images in the map on the right.
