Sunday, January 31, 2021 -- 6:00 p.m.
A tribal monitor joined the response team on Friday, January 29. Divers rigged the dredge with cables and floats, and they were also able to pump out oil remaining in the dredge.
On Saturday, January 30, the dredge was righted and transported to a shore-side location where it can be removed from the water. Boom was placed around the dredge as a precautionary measure. Clean Harbors is scheduling equipment for removal of the dredge. Ecology will monitor the removal when it is scheduled.
Thursday, January 28, 2021 -- 7:30 p.m.
The dredge remains capsized in Casey pond and is leaking diesel fuel to surrounding water. Clean harbors has deployed sweep, pads, absorbent boom, and hard boom to control the loss of diesel fuel from the dredge.
Boom deployed will be changed out as needed to ensure containment and recovery of the lost diesel fuel. Clean Harbors will be onsite through the night monitoring the barge and boom.
Clean Harbors will attempt the recovery on January 29. Ecology will be on site as well for dredge recovery.

Ecology has been notified of a dredge and barge tipped over in Casey Pond, near Burbank, WA.
Clean Harbors dredge was under tow when going through a narrow passage under a railroad bridge and capsized carrying 150 gallons of diesel fuel. The amount of fuel that has been released is unknown at this time.
Clean Harbors is onsite and has placed hard boom and sorbent boom around the dredge to contain and recover spilled fuel. They are working to remove the dredge and barge from the pond.
An Ecology responder is en route.
