We are preparing to renew the air operating permit (AOP) for Vaagen Brothers Lumber located at 565 West 5th Avenue, Colville, in Stevens County. The sawmill facility covers 80 acres, about half of which is used to produce lumber and generate electricity.

Documents for review

We determined this proposal satisfies the requirements of Chapter 173-401 WAC. We plan to approve the renewal.

To comment or request an online public hearing, use one of the ways listed below by April 29, 2024. A request for an online public hearing must include the interest of the person making the request and why a public hearing is needed. We will hold an online public hearing if there is significant public interest.

This notice was posted on March 25, 2024.

Background

Commercial and industrial businesses that emit large amounts of air pollution are required to get an air operating permit. An air operating permit is a master document that lists all of the air pollution requirements that apply to a business or industry. We issue these permits along with other clean air agencies in Washington.
