Callahan Ag main plant stationary rock crusher, Royal City
Air quality application for general order coverage – Opportunity to request a public comment period
Nov. 12, 2024, 12 a.m. - Nov. 27, 2024, 11:59 p.m.
We propose to approve Callahan Ag's air quality general order application for a stationary rock crusher. We will hold a public comment period if one is requested.
Callahan Ag applied for coverage under the general order to operate their stationary rock crushing operation located at 15587 Road A SE, in Royal City. Maximum production capacity has increased. Callahan Ag was previously covered under the general order allowing them to produce 50,000 tons of crushed rock per year.
Document for review
We determined this proposal satisfies the requirements of Chapter 173-400 WAC. We plan to approve the application. We will hold a public comment period on a draft air permit ("approval order") that includes this change if we receive a written request by November 27, 2024.
To request a public comment period, use one of the ways listed below.

Background
An air quality general order is a group permit that simplifies the air permitting process. When several sources of air pollution are similar, we can issue a “general order” for all the sources, rather than a series of individual permits.
