We are starting the rulemaking process to update Washington's organic materials management regulations under Chapter 173-350 WAC Solid Waste Handling Standards.
We are considering standards to address contamination in food waste feedstocks and finished products such as compost. We're also considering amendments to cover additional organic materials management practices.
In this public meeting, staff will provide a brief presentation and will ask for comments from participants on what organics management challenges should be addressed during the rule development process.
