Public information open house
Georgia Pacific Camas
July 9, 2024, 5:30 p.m., Camas, Clark County
The City of Camas, Washington State Department of Ecology, Washington State Department of Health and Clark County Public Health will hold a public information open house to share information about recent PFAS concerns in the Camas community.
Participants can ask the city about proposed actions and response to PFAS found in Well 13 and the Camas water system. Although there has not been a link established between the mill site and recent tests that identified PFAS chemicals in the city's drinking water wells, the Department of Ecology will be there to provide information regarding the Model Toxics Control Act (MTCA) cleanup process at the Georgia Pacific Camas Mill. Representatives from Department of Health and Clark County Health will be available to answer questions relating to PFAS in drinking water, their role in implementing EPA's new drinking water rule, and about overall health concerns related to PFAS.
