Harris Avenue Shipyard cleanup site, Bellingham

On-site walking tour

Feb. 26, 2025, 12 p.m. PT, Bellingham

Join the on-site walking tour to learn about this cleanup site on the Bellingham waterfront.

RE Sources, a local nonprofit organization, will host the on-site walking tour. Ecology and Port of Bellingham staff will be there to provide project information and answer questions. This tour is funded by a Public Participation Grant from Ecology.

The Harris Avenue Shipyard is on the Bellingham waterfront. The site consists of about 5 acres of contaminated soil and groundwater (upland area) and 5 acres of contaminated marine sediment (in-water area).

Ecology is accepting comments on a legal agreement that requires the port to clean up the site, and on a cleanup plan.
