Public Hearing
Draft Tier II Analysis Report
July 31, 2025, 5:30 p.m. PT, Online webinar
Our hearing will begin with a short presentation about the draft Tier II Analysis.
Formal testimony will start immediately after the presentation. We encourage both questions and comments to be submitted during the public testimony period. The hearing will conclude once everyone who wants to provide testimony has had the opportunity to do so. Written comments will receive the same consideration as oral testimony.
Forest Practices Board proposed a new buffer rule to reduce warming in non-fish bearing perennial streams in western Washington. To protect cool water and prevent temperature pollution, the proposed rule would reduce harvest of trees around these streams. The widths of the proposed buffers vary from 50 to 75 feet, depending on site conditions.
To read the draft rule and learn more about how to comment, information is on the Forest Practices webpage.
