National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) Wastewater Discharge Permit
Feb. 19, 2025, 12 a.m. - March 21, 2025, 11:59 p.m. PT
We invite your comments on the proposed modified NPDES permit no. WA0030805
This draft permit is being issued to Brooks Manufacturing Company. The proposed modification includes reducing the monitoring frequency from monthly to quarterly and removing the average limits for pentachlorophenol (PCP) in the permit. The permit contains language to allow making these changes because the facility has demonstrated that no PCP product has been used nor that it has PCP treated wood stored on-site.
You may view the draft modified permit, fact sheet addendum and related documents at Brooks MFG or visit the Water Quality Permitting and Reporting Information System (PARIS) website.
Background
We regulate wastewater released from municipalities and industries using the National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) Wastewater Discharge Permit. This permit regulates wastewater that goes directly into lakes, rivers, Puget Sound, or the ocean (surface water). All wastewater must be treated before it goes into surface water to protect human health and aquatic life. Learn more about water quality individual permits.
