Public invited to online conversation about Hanford

RICHLAND, WA  – 

Join state and federal Hanford managers on April 12 for an evening of online conversation about ongoing efforts at the nation’s largest environmental cleanup site. You can connect with the conversation through your home computer, your mobile device or any public online access point, such as your local library. Before or during the event, you can email your questions to HanfordLive2017@rl.gov.  

Who:  The Tri-Party Agreement agencies are U.S. Department of Energy, Washington State Department of Ecology, and U.S. Environmental Protection Agency

What:  An online conversation about Hanford cleanup progress and challenges. During the broadcast, agency representatives will offer a brief presentation followed by questions and answers. Topics will include environmental restoration, safe worker practices, and  the Waste Treatment Plant.

Where:  Online – please register for information on how to participate. 

Why:  This online conversation is a first for the Hanford site. The goal is to provide an opportunity for communication between the government agencies overseeing the environmental cleanup and the public.
