The team will hold a regular meeting every month to identify policy-level issues, coordinate among agencies, and discuss options for improving permitting processes. Interagency Policy Team objectives
- Coordinate with state agencies to describe environmental review and permitting processes, understand issues, and identify opportunities and roadblocks in current processes.
- Identify other existing and planned siting work in Washington.
- Provide increased clarity on areas in the state that may be suitable for siting projects that have a lower potential for negative environmental impacts, especially to highly impacted communities.
- Provide clear guidance and direction to improve project proposals and support economic development and job growth in the state of Washington.
- Recommend policy and administrative improvements necessary to improve the permitting processes.
- Recommend any additional studies needed.
- Identify tools for project applicants to use for proposals and develop a prototype mapping tool.
