Waste Treatment Plant permit modification

Ecology is holding a 45-day public comment period addressing proposed modifications to the Dangerous Waste Portion for the Treatment, Storage, and Disposal of Dangerous Waste, Waste Treatment and Immobilization Plant (WTP).
This draft permit modification describes the new configuration relative to the WTP High-Level Waste (HLW) Facility. It also allows future permit submittals affecting engineering documents and information as facility design and operational planning progresses. The draft permit modification also includes certain updated information on other WTP HLW Facility critical system designs.
The proposed permit modification is available for review on at the Nuclear Waste Program’s public involvement page. Electronic copies of the proposed modification are also located at the Administrative Record and Information Repositories. The permittees are U.S. Department of Energy and Bechtel National, Inc. The WTP is located on the Hanford Site in southeastern Washington.
