U.S. Oil & Refining/McChord Pipeline Co.
Oil Spill Contingency Plan
March 31, 2025, 8 a.m. - April 30, 2025, 11:59 p.m. PT
We invite interested public, local and tribal governments to review and comment on the U.S. Oil & Refining/McChord Pipeline Co. Contingency Plan updates.
The following plan is now available for public review:
Washington Administrative Code (WAC) 173-182 and 173-186 requires oil handling facilities, pipelines, vessels and railroads to have a state-approved oil spill contingency plan that ensures their ability to respond to major oil spills.
Regulated companies are required to submit changes to Ecology and significant updates may require a 30-day public review of the updates. Specific changes in this update include the discontinuation of U.S. Oil & Refining Co.’s contract with Gallagher Marine Systems and replaced with a contract with Center for Toxicology and Environmental Health (CTEH) to fill Spill Management Team (SMT) positions.
Visit our website to see a list of approved contingency plans.
