Weldcraft Steel & Marine cleanup site, Bellingham

On-site walking tour

July 17, 2025, 12 p.m. PT, Bellingham

Join the walking tour to learn about this cleanup site on the Bellingham Bay waterfront.

RE Sources, a local nonprofit organization, will host the on-site walking tour. Ecology and Port of Bellingham staff will be there to provide project information and answer questions. This tour is funded by a Public Participation Grant from Ecology.

The Weldcraft Steel and Marine cleanup site is about 3.3 acres (2.5 acres on land and 0.8 acres in
the water). Past environmental investigations found contamination in soil, groundwater, and sediment above WA State cleanup levels.

Ecology is currently asking for public comments on a draft cleanup action plan, agreed order, State Environmental Policy Act – Determination of Non-Significance, and public participation plan for this site.
