Proposed fees for 2026-2027

Wastewater Operator Draft Fee Schedule

March 26, 2025, 12 a.m. - May 10, 2025, 11:59 p.m. PT

We invite comments on the Wastewater Operator Certification Program Draft Fees.

We are not proposing any changes to the operator certification fees for the next two years. This is based on the estimated administrative costs of the OpCert program and the projected account balance.

View the draft fee schedule for more information.

By law, we must fund the Wastewater Operator Certification (OpCert) program with fees and publish an updated draft fee schedule every other year. Based on the estimated administrative costs of the OpCert program and the projected account balance, we intend to raise wastewater operator certification fees.

Wastewater treatment facilities serve an essential function to protect public health and the environment, including Washington's rivers, lakes, streams, and Puget Sound. The certification of wastewater treatment plant operators helps make sure they are knowledgeable and that facilities are properly operated and maintained. Learn more about the OpCert program
